Lonesome Village is a video game that merges the best of two Nintendo franchises, Animal Crossing and The Legend of Zelda, so if you're a fan of any of these games, you'll love this title.

This game has a 2D visual style. It is a social simulator and also a puzzle game, which is precisely what differentiates it from the Zelda titles; since it is a game that does not include sword and shield combat, so neither is it an indie like the popular Tunic game.

In the game story, you will see a peaceful town full of life until a strange calamity disappeared the citizens. To rescue them, you will have to solve puzzles on each floor of a mysterious tower that has appeared in town.

So, as you can already imagine, there will be all kinds of animals with different personalities in different sections of the map in which you will have to complete missions with them to obtain hearts in exchange. Those hearts are going to be useful to continue advancing the tower.

VISUAL ASPECT

It is a game with a cartoonish visual style, colorful and amiable, with adorable characters.

In addition, as soon as you start the video game, you will notice its "vibe" because the friendly style of the characters, dialogues, music, and beautiful ambient sounds will make your gaming experience very relaxing.

Lonesome Village stands out for not being a video game that saturates you with much information. Almost all communication is amicable for all ages since drawings primarily represent them.

You may notice that it has a more minimalist and clean appearance.

GAMEPLAY

Taking into account those mentioned above about how there are almost no texts in the video game, and there are no instructions either, this leads you to situations with a lot of exploration. So, if you like to play games where you can discover certain secrets on the map and find lost objects, you will like this game a lot.

Many might think that due to the lack of combat, it might become a bit boring and actionless game, however, the game's pace is totally up to you, you don't feel pressure to finish it in a hurry, and there are no timeouts in the game either. What do we mean by this? It means that even though there was a clock where it marked whether it was day or night, this aspect was merely for setting as it did not have an impact at the gameplay level.

It is a game that you can play and advance without stopping because whether it is doing missions with the animals or going in the tower; everything can be done at any time. It doesn’t matter if it was at dawn in the game; you did not have to wait for the locals opened or not, nor that your cultivation takes a whole day to grow or that if any character was asleep or not, one could continue with the story of the game without pause.

PUZZLES

As it is a puzzle video game, it is essential to talk about them. Most puzzles have elements similar to what we could see in the Zelda titles. They are entertaining, fun and have a medium to medium-low difficulty level.

The puzzles increase in difficulty as you progress through the game; however, they are very user-friendly, so you won't spend days figuring out how to solve an obstacle.

LIFE SIMULATION

The interaction with the characters is good, but there needed to be more variety in the dialogue they had with them because they constantly repeated the same thing. The NPC characters without any specific role also repeated the same conversation.

In the aspect of farming in Lonesome Village, you will be able to fish, cultivate, mine, and cut wood, each of these actions are part of the story level to complete secondary or primary missions to continue the progress of the game.

THE LEGEND OF ZELDA REFERENCES

The game takes inspiration from various titles in the Zelda franchise; they took good aspects from different games in the series and mixed them into one. There were mixes between the Wind Waker, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, and Gameboy classics, so if you're a fan of the saga, you'll surely enjoy this.

In conclusion, it is an adorable, fun, and entertaining game to spend hours playing without stopping. It is friendly both for people who are used to video games and for those who are not.
