Pokémon TCG Pocket is a phenomenon and has become one of the most successful mobile games in the franchise. There’s great news for all its fans, as the second expansion is on its way, and we already know some of its first details.
The Pokémon Company has revealed the release date and information about the new cards that Mythical Island will offer. This second expansion will star Mew, one of the franchise’s most beloved Legendary Pokémon. Additionally, the company confirmed that the game is a success with over 60 million downloads worldwide.
Mythical Island: The Second Expansion of Pokémon TCG Pocket
The Mythical Island expansion is packed with new features for Pokémon TCG Pocket players. It will include over 80 cards at launch and introduce the most iconic creatures from the Johto region.
Additionally, players will be able to obtain 5 new EX cards right from the start. These include cards for Mew and Celebi, Legendary Pokémon well-known to fans of the franchise.
Moreover, the expansion will add 5 new Trainer cards and immersive special cards that showcase unique scenes upon unlocking. It’s important to note that the current expansion will remain available and won’t be replaced by Mythical Island.
The Pokémon Company also teased updates for deck building, an expanded battle system, and new ways to showcase card collections. More details will be revealed soon. Below, you can watch the announcement trailer:

When Will Mythical Island Debut in Pokémon TCG Pocket?
Pokémon TCG Pocket players can mark their calendars, as Mythical Island packs will arrive in just a few days. The expansion will launch globally on Tuesday, December 17. All the new content will be free, and players only need to download the update on that day to start enjoying it on iOS and Android devices.
