Microsoft recently released the 24H2 update for Windows 11, surprising players as it introduced various problems with certain titles. Specifically, the affected games include Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Assassin's Creed Origins, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Star Wars Outlaws, and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.

The company acknowledged the issue, explaining that players might experience unexpected freezing at launch, during loading, or while playing. Additionally, some may encounter a black screen preventing gameplay.

“We recommend that you do not attempt to manually update to version 24H2 using the Windows 11 Installation Assistant or the media creation tool until this issue has been resolved.”

As a result, Microsoft has paused the update’s distribution while investigating. They also advised against manually downloading the update until further notice.

Currently, the company is working with Ubisoft to identify and resolve the issue with the affected games. Meanwhile, they’ve provided a workaround for users who can’t close these games properly.
