Player boasts he reached level 1000 in Starfield after playing 1100 hours, but the community tells him he “wasted his time”

The player's achievement has divided opinions among Bethesda fans.

Starfield offers hundreds of hours of gameplay, filled with places to explore and missions to complete. With this in mind, one player decided to spend 1100 hours in the space title—not to uncover all its secrets, but with the goal of reaching level 1000 with his character. Of course, this is a huge achievement, as reaching even level 100 requires effort, dedication, and a significant amount of time.

The player, known on Reddit as Putrid_Level_621, accomplished his goal after hundreds of hours of gameplay, proudly sharing his achievement on the Starfield forums. However, he didn’t receive the comments he was expecting.

While some of the community admired his dedication and patience, other players claimed it was a “waste of time”, as they didn’t understand why he invested so many hours in this challenge.

Player Reaches Level 1000 in Starfield After Hundreds of Hours

Putrid_Level_621 shared on Reddit a screenshot showing that he had indeed reached level 1000 in Starfield. He spent over 1100 hours to achieve this, which required immense dedication and a bit of strategy.

The community was quick to question him, asking how and why he did it. Putrid_Level_621 explained that he played Starfield normally until he reached level 450, after which he decided to keep leveling up to reach level 500.

From there, he aimed to double his level and eventually reach 1000. He noted that leveling up becomes increasingly difficult and that the only way was by crafting fuel rods.

“I played normally up to around level 450, building lots of outposts. Then I decided to try and reach level 500, then 600, and eventually level 1000. After a certain point, the only way to gain levels was by crafting vytininium fuel rods. Normal gameplay just couldn't keep up.”

As mentioned, part of the community was impressed by Putrid_Level_621's achievement, understanding that reaching a high level in Starfield can be challenging and even tedious. However, many players weren’t impressed and, instead of congratulating him, they criticized him.

Community Criticizes Player Who Reached Level 1000 in Starfield

Some players criticized Putrid_Level_621, believing that his achievement of reaching level 1000 was, in fact, “a waste of time.” Several Reddit users commented that they wished they had that much free time to enjoy multiple games.

Others suggested he use his time more productively, noting that in those 1100 hours, he could have enjoyed other games, learned a new skill, or done something entirely different.

“Time is a non-renewable resource. Use it wisely,” “It doesn’t make sense,” and “Imagine if he dedicated this time and effort to something constructive, like finding a good job or getting in shape,” were some of the comments he received.

However, some players defended Putrid_Level_621, pointing out that in the end, gaming is a hobby, and he’s free to do whatever he wants with his time. What do you think about his achievement? Which side of the community are you on?
