Last year, the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences decided to honor musicians working in the video game industry. To do so, they created a special category at the GRAMMY Awards that recognizes the best musical work across various industries.
Recently, the nominees for the 67th edition of the acclaimed awards, to be held in February 2025, were revealed. As expected, the category dedicated to video games is still active, and we now know the 5 titles and composers competing for the award. Notably, there are 2 PlayStation exclusives among the nominees for the 2025 GRAMMY Awards.
Which games will compete at the 2025 GRAMMY Awards?
The 2025 GRAMMY ceremony will take place on Sunday, February 2, 2025. Gamers have a reason to tune in, as an award will be presented in the category Best Score Soundtrack for Video Games and Other Interactive Media, featuring 5 games and their talented composers.
Representing PlayStation, Bear McCreary is highlighted for his work on God of War Ragnarök: Valhalla. The composer was previously nominated for the base game from Santa Monica and for Call of Duty: Vanguard.
PlayStation will also have presence thanks to John Paesano, the talented composer of Marvel's Spider-Man 2. Ubisoft will compete with the soundtrack for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, composed by Pinar Toprak.
The remaining nominees are Wilbert Roget for his work on Star Wars: Outlaws and Winifred Phillips for her compositions for Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord. The award recognizes original soundtracks created specifically for or as a complement to a video game or any other interactive medium. Here’s the list:

Which games have won a GRAMMY?
In case you don’t remember, the first game to win an award in the category of Best Score Soundtrack for Video Games and Other Interactive Media was Assassin's Creed Valhalla, which took the prestigious award in 2023 thanks to the talent of Stephanie Economou.
In 2024, the winner was Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, which shone at the awards for the music of Stephen Barton and Gordy Haab. Before there was an official category for video games, Kirby won a GRAMMY at the event in 2022.
