Recently, a player of the franchise’s TCG became the victim of a robbery. Among the stolen items was a first-generation Charizard card valued at $40,000 USD. The police quickly stepped in to locate the thief, recover the merchandise, and return it to the rightful owner. The authorities were smart, using Facebook to track down the thief, who was already negotiating the valuable card.

According to the Heathfield, UK police, a suspect stole the valuable Charizard card between September 2 and 5. A search warrant was soon issued, and authorities devised a plan to locate the card and arrest the culprit.
Due to the card's great value, they suspected the thief would attempt to sell it soon. The police were right, as after an extensive search, they found that someone was trying to sell the Charizard on Facebook.
They quickly sprang into action and identified a 23-year-old man from Polegate. The police went to the location, recovered the card, and arrested the suspect, who admitted to stealing it.
As you can imagine, the card's owner was ecstatic, as he was able to recover his highly valuable card and return it to his collection. Alan Russell, the officer in charge of the investigation, expressed satisfaction with the outcome. "It was a valuable item which meant a lot to the victim," the officer said.
