GTA VI: Players Think They’ve Discovered When Rockstar Games Will Reveal the Second Trailer, and It Could Be Soon

It’s fair to say that Grand Theft Auto VI is one of the most highly anticipated games of the past decade. With its release set for 2025, fans are desperate to learn more about the map, protagonists, story, and gameplay mechanics. While waiting for more details, the community is clinging to any hint that might reveal when the second trailer will be released.

Rockstar Games released the first GTA VI trailer in early December 2023. Before that, players came up with all sorts of theories trying to guess when the reveal would happen. Even after the trailer aired, speculation did not die down.

Now, nearly a year later, the developer remains silent and has yet to share more information about the open-world game. According to another fan theory, that might change soon.

GTA VI Trailer 2 May Be Coming Soon, According to a Crazy Fan Theory

Just before the official Grand Theft Auto VI announcement, Rockstar Games shared promotional art for new GTA Online content. Fans speculated that the moon in the image contained a hidden message about the reveal date of the new project.

Specifically, the art showed a waning gibbous moon, a phase that was present in early December 2023, around the time Take-Two Interactive surprised fans with the first official GTA VI trailer.

Now, a year later, another GTA Online image is stirring up conversation. Once again, it shows a waning gibbous moon, a phase that will appear in mid-November in the real world. Of course, this date varies by time zone. Regardless, the community is convinced the second trailer for the game, featuring protagonists Jason and Lucia, will drop this month.

Some fans even theorize that we might get more information before the next waning moon. They point out that announcements, like Red Dead Redemption 2's delay and the first GTA VI teaser, coincided with Take-Two’s quarterly earnings report.

The next shareholder conference is scheduled for Wednesday, November 6, leading fans to believe that the company may use this opportunity to reveal more about the new project.

When Will GTA VI Launch on Consoles?

Whether this theory holds true remains uncertain, though it does make sense. Earlier this year, Take-Two used a financial report to announce that Grand Theft Auto VI will launch in fall 2025, meaning it will be available for Xbox and PlayStation between September 22 and December 21.

However, a former Rockstar Games developer cautioned that a delay is possible, meaning the game might not debut until 2026 or later.
