Amid rumors about the reveal of its new console, Nintendo decided to release one more update for the Switch. The successful hybrid system continues to receive support and improvements, as it will still offer appealing releases throughout 2025.
The company released system version 19.0.1 a few hours ago, so you can now update your console. It’s worth noting that the update includes important adjustments that resolve two annoying issues that affected many players.
What’s new in the latest Nintendo Switch update?
According to the official update notes, version 19.0.1 includes general stability improvements for the console, a standard feature in all updates Nintendo has released so far. Interestingly, it also addresses two issues that likely frustrated you if they occurred.
The first issue is related to using GameCube controllers on the Switch. Previously, players reported a problem with the adapter, where sometimes the peripherals weren’t recognized, preventing them from functioning correctly.
Fortunately, this recent update fixes the issue, so now you can enjoy your favorite games with the iconic GameCube controller without worrying about the connection. Additionally, Nintendo resolved an issue related to the Switch’s sleep mode.
Under certain circumstances, the sleep mode didn’t function properly, especially when downloads or other Internet-connected tasks were ongoing. Update 19.0.1 addresses this, so you can now rely on sleep mode.
Don’t expect any additional fixes, as this is all the new update offers. As always, it will download automatically when you connect to the Internet. Otherwise, you can manually update it from the settings menu.
