A leaker hints that the 96 Metacritic-rated title might be a launch game for the new console.

After 7 years in the market, the Nintendo Switch continues to dominate sales charts monthly, but it's nearing the end of its life cycle. Fans eagerly await the announcement of its successor, and one highly anticipated title might just be part of its debut lineup — a game considered one of the best of the decade.

Previously, Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa confirmed development of a new platform, with an official announcement expected before the fiscal year ends on March 31, 2025. While official details are still under wraps, recent rumors give insights into the potential games for its launch.

The new console is anticipated to have a strong first-party game library and extensive support from third-party developers. Recently, a leak suggests that one of the top-rated games from 2022 might be ready for launch on the new platform.

ELDEN RING Could Arrive on Nintendo Switch 2, Possibly with Shadow of the Erdtree Expansion

In a recent social media post, leaker Nash Weedle stirred up excitement by hinting that ELDEN RING, the acclaimed open-world soulslike from 2022, will debut on the new Nintendo Switch 2 as early as late 2025.

Additionally, the leaker claims the game’s release will include a “Definitive Edition,” possibly bundled with the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion. Another studio, however, would likely manage this adaptation.

According to Nash Weedle, the Nintendo Switch 2 port of ELDEN RING is in development by Virtuos, known for Dark Souls: Remastered, which remains the only title from that franchise available on Nintendo’s hybrid console.

Although the prospect of ELDEN RING on Nintendo Switch 2 is exciting, neither Bandai Namco nor Nintendo has confirmed this information.

With reports suggesting an imminent announcement of the new console as early as this week, more information on the rumored port of the fantasy-themed soulslike could soon surface.
