Epic Games will update how passes work across the various experiences.

Fortnite has evolved significantly since its debut. Currently, Epic Games' title is more than just the Battle Royale we all know, as it includes experiences like LEGO Fortnite, Fortnite Festival, and Rocket Racing. Each of these experiences has its own pass and reward systems, with independent progression.

For months, players have requested that Epic Games unify the pass system to allow progress regardless of which game title they’re enjoying. The company listened to the community and confirmed it would implement this change very soon.

Thanks to this, all Fortnite passes will progress simultaneously with XP earned, no matter which experience fans are playing. This way, it will be easier to unlock rewards across all titles.

In a statement, Epic Games explained that all Fortnite passes will progress simultaneously starting December 1. Currently, it’s possible to level up the Battle Pass of the Battle Royale by earning XP in any franchise experience.

Starting November 2, the same will apply to the Music Pass from Fortnite Festival. The last to receive this benefit will be Brick or Treat, the pass for LEGO Fortnite, which will have shared progression starting December 1.

From that day, all three passes will have a single path of premium and free rewards. Players can unlock them in any order across all passes, allowing rewards to be automatically obtained in all three experiences.

Due to this major adjustment, Epic Games will remove Festival Points on November 2. Additionally, Battle Stars and Studs will no longer be available as of December 1. The company emphasized that players will still need to purchase each pass separately, but it is working on an option to allow them to be bought all at once. Furthermore, players will have the option to directly purchase pass rewards instead of buying levels to obtain them.

"Buying rewards directly on one pass will not progress or affect your other active passes. If you have both the Music Pass and Battle Pass, and buy the remainder of the rewards on the Music Pass, your Battle Pass wouldn’t be progressed any further than it was already," the studio stated.
