At the end of August, Nintendo confirmed that one of its free-to-play games had its days numbered and that it would be relaunched under a premium paid model. The company revealed more details this morning about the future of Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, a game for iOS and Android devices that will soon cost $20 USD.
In case you don’t remember, the title debuted in November 2017 and was very well received by fans of the popular franchise. After years of operating as a free game, its free-to-play version will disappear next November 29.
Through a statement, Nintendo revealed the release date for Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete, the new paid version that can be played without needing a constant Internet connection.
What is Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete and when will it debut?
Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete is the new paid version of Nintendo’s mobile game. This relaunch will be playable without the need for a connection, which will undoubtedly be appreciated by more than one fan of the iconic saga.
Another good piece of news is that, as a paid title, it will no longer include in-app purchases or any kind of subscription. This means that Leaf Tickets and the Pocket Camp Club will disappear along with the free-to-play game.
In terms of content, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete will include the events released over the 7 years the free version was available. It’s important to mention that this relaunch will not include Market Boxes, gifts, or visits to other players’ camps as it used to.
Players of the free title will be able to transfer their save data to continue playing until June 2, 2025. After that, it will no longer be possible to do so, and their information will be lost. The title will only require a temporary connection to verify data, check time, and download content.
Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete will include new features such as the ability to create a camper card, receive visits through them, nighttime concerts, and limited-edition items.
The game will be available on iOS and Android next December 3. Its price will be $19.99 USD, but until January 31, 2025, it will be available for only $9.99 USD.
