The Most Controversial Streamer Spirals: YouTube Rejects Dr Disrespect’s Monetization Request, Blocking His Earnings

Guy Beahm was once a Twitch star, but now faces his lowest point

Although Dr Disrespect was always a controversial figure, constantly in headlines due to his opinions on the gaming and streaming world, it’s undeniable that he crossed a line, and now faces the consequences. Following a major controversy, he’s finding himself blocked from earning money on YouTube.

Content creator Guy Beahm quickly rose to fame on Twitch with thousands of followers. However, in 2020, he faced a permanent ban, forcing him to move to YouTube. At that time, the reason behind his ban remained unclear.

It wasn’t until 2024 that Cody Conners, former strategic partnerships director at Twitch, revealed that a user was banned from the platform after sending inappropriate messages to a minor. The community quickly connected the dots and speculated that the statement referred to Dr Disrespect.

The content creator confirmed the accusations, later taking a break. However, he has since deleted his confession and attempted to rephrase his statements, though with little success.

It has recently come to light that even Rumble and Kick—streaming platforms known for their relaxed policies and controversial influencers—declined to establish commercial ties with Dr Disrespect. The bad news continues, as YouTube has also turned its back.

During a recent live stream of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Guy Beahm confirmed that Google’s platform denied his monetization request, meaning he’ll need to wait another 60 days to reapply.

“Unfortunately, [YouTube] extended it by another 60 days. Believe it or not, they waited until the last second to tell me, ‘Hey, [Dr Disrespect], we’re extending it by 60 days, and then you can reapply and we’ll review it.’”

Though Dr Disrespect is clearly disappointed, he’s willing to wait the 2 months to appeal again. Meanwhile, he seems set on continuing his YouTube streams, even though he won’t earn anything from them.
