At the beginning of this year, news broke of Akira Toriyama's passing. Since then, numerous tributes have been made to one of the most significant creators in the manga and anime industries. Another has now been discovered in the latest animation project he worked on.
The second episode of Dragon Ball Daima debuted this week, and with it came the unveiling of the official opening and ending, with lyrics written by composer Yukinojo Mori. The opening is performed by Zedd and KEEN from C&K, and the ending by AI and Zedd.

Dragon Ball Daima includes a tribute to Akira Toriyama
The most striking tribute appears in the opening, titled Jaka Jaan. Within the lyrics, there is a hidden homage to the series' creator.
Dreams are everywhere,
don't worry about that;
never give up
Unfortunately, this tribute gets lost in translation, but in Japanese, these verses are written as follows:
Yumewatoridori
nayamanai
akiramenai

As you can see, the composer Yukinojo Mori appears to have subtly embedded the name of the renowned franchise creator within the song.
While not as evident as the opening, the ending also seems to pay tribute to Akira Toriyama. At the end of the sequence, a dove appears, forming from feathers that float up into the sky.
In case you missed it: you can now watch Dragon Ball Daima on streaming platforms.
