Messhof’s title also gets a new name to align with its updated narrative

Xbox Game Pass had an impressive 2024, with subscribers gaining access to several Day 1 releases and other titles that joined the catalog in recent months. As the year comes to a close, there are still a few surprises left for October, November, and December. However, it's been confirmed that one anticipated game has pushed its release date to 2025.

It seems Microsoft will continue its winning streak into next year and beyond. For example, we already know that Avowed, Obsidian Entertainment’s much-anticipated RPG, is set to launch on February 18. Other games like DOOM: The Dark Ages, the console port of Frostpunk 2, and additional titles are also expected.

Recently, the company used a digital event to unveil more games coming to Xbox Game Pass in the coming months. During this event, it was confirmed that a highly anticipated indie game would shift its release date and no longer debut in 2024 as originally planned.

On October 17, another edition of the Xbox Partner Preview program aired, where updates on several third-party games heading to Microsoft consoles and other platforms were shared.

During the presentation, it was confirmed that Eternal Strands, Subnautica 2, and Wuchang: Fallen Feathers will join the Xbox Game Pass catalog in 2025. Additionally, FBC: Firebreak, the multiplayer game from Remedy Entertainment, is set to launch at an undisclosed future date.

It was also revealed that Ghost Bike has undergone a name change and a new release window. For those eagerly waiting, the game will now debut in 2025.

Specifically, the game from Messhof will now be called Wheel World. According to the developer, the name change reflects the narrative adjustments made since the game’s initial reveal in 2023. Additionally, the trailer shown at the Xbox Partner Preview confirmed that the game will launch in early next year, although it was initially planned for 2024.

Thankfully, the name and release date change did not affect the game’s business strategy. As confirmed in the official trailer, Wheel World will be available on Xbox Game Pass upon its release in early 2025.

What is Wheel World?

For those unfamiliar with this Annapurna Interactive title, Wheel World offers a semi-open world experience where players control Kat, who has been chosen by ancient cycling spirits to compete against other teams and perform a ritual to save the universe.

In the game, players will collect rare parts to upgrade their bike and find special items that will be useful in completing the ritual to prevent the world from falling into the abyss. It’s important to note that the game will be available on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.

But tell us, will you give Wheel World a try when it joins the Game Pass lineup? Let us know in the comments.
