Insomniac Games hit the mark with the Marvel's Spider-Man series, which are considered some of the best superhero games ever made. Now, the spotlight is on their next project, Marvel's Wolverine, and although PlayStation’s studio has been tight-lipped on details, the silence may break before the end of the year.
Insomniac to Reveal Marvel's Wolverine News Before Year-End, Insider Claims
According to a report from insider "Kurakasis" on X (via Wccftech), Insomniac Games might showcase new footage of Marvel's Wolverine before the end of 2024. Although no exact date is set, two possibilities are being considered: a reveal during The Game Awards 2024 or at a PlayStation event that could be held in the coming weeks. Rumors suggest that Marvel's Wolverine will debut next year, which wouldn't be surprising given Insomniac’s track record of quickly launching multiple titles. It's no wonder the studio became PlayStation’s star developer after Naughty Dog’s recent challenges.
It’s also worth noting that the PlayStation 5 Pro is set to debut soon, and one of the main demands from Sony’s fanbase is the need for more next-gen titles. The timing for unveiling something new from Marvel's Wolverine would be perfect to boost the second half of the PS5's lifecycle.
On a related note, we can’t forget the hacking incident Insomniac suffered in December 2023, which led to the leak of many documents, including material from Marvel's Wolverine. This split the fanbase, with some criticizing the leaked content for resembling Spider-Man, only with a different superhero.
Amid the controversy, fans questioned Sony’s studio over the lack of updates on the Wolverine game, to which Insomniac bluntly responded, saying: "we'll share news when the time is right, and the right time is not now."
