Dragon Ball Daima: Toei Animation reveals the official opening and ending of the new anime, and they are beautiful

Episode 2 of the new animated series is now available at no extra cost on Crunchyroll

After years of absence from television, Akira Toriyama's work returned in October with Dragon Ball Daima, a new animated series that tells an original story. The first episode debuted last week with great success, and just a few minutes ago, the second episode premiered in Japan and on streaming platforms. Thus, we finally know what the official opening and ending are.

The inaugural episode of the new anime focused on briefly summarizing the most important events of the Majin Buu arc from Dragon Ball Z; all with fluid animation and a renewed visual style. Additionally, we met Gomah, Degesu, and Dr. Arinsu, who serve as the new villains.

With this in mind, the episode did not feature the opening or ending. Fans had to wait until this week’s episode to enjoy the opening and closing sequences of this ambitious animated project.

The opening and ending of Dragon Ball Daima are beautiful and nostalgic

In celebration of the release of the second episode of Dragon Ball Daima, Toei Animation shared the official opening on their YouTube channel. The best part is that this version doesn't include the text credits, allowing viewers to fully appreciate the art and animation.

The opening sequence showcases some of the locations Goku and his friends will visit during their adventure. We also get a glimpse of the new supporting characters, like Glorio and Panzy. And of course, the villains Arinsu, Degesu, and Gomah appear briefly. Notably, it confirms that Vegeta will also be able to transform into a Super Saiyan.

The opening song for Dragon Ball Daima is called Jaka Jaan, performed by Zedd, a famous Russian-German DJ and producer who won a Grammy Award in 2014. He collaborated with the musical duo C&K, while the lyrics were written by the legendary Yukinojo Mori, who was also involved in the production of CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA and Limit Break x Survivor.

As is traditional in the anime industry, the ending features calmer sequences and a nostalgic melody to slow down the pace. The images show Goku and the rest of the group doing ordinary activities like sleeping, cooking, walking, and more.

The ending theme is titled NAKAMA and is also the work of DJ Zedd, although this time he collaborated with the musician AI, who wrote and performed the song.

Regarding Episode 2 of Dragon Ball Daima, it’s worth noting that it premiered on October 18 via Crunchyroll. Fans using Netflix and Max will have to wait until October 25 to enjoy it. Just like the first episode, only the version with Spanish subtitles and Japanese voices will debut.
