As Pokémon Scarlet & Violet approaches its 2nd anniversary, Game Freak continues to engage players with in-game events, including Pokémon distributions. It seems another event is on the horizon, potentially offering rare and hard-to-find Pokémon.
Every now and then, The Pokémon Company announces mystery gift distributions for its games, and it appears one is close for Pokémon Scarlet & Violet. This could be the first in-person event featuring Pokémon that are not available within the game.
Will there be a distribution event for Pokémon Scarlet & Violet?
The rumor of an upcoming distribution is fueled by a well-known Pokémon leaker, Riddler_Khu. Recently, they shared emojis of DNA, a wave, and a scarf, along with the numbers "3", "5", and "8."
Fans quickly deciphered this riddle, speculating that it hints at Deoxys, Keldeo, and Zarude. Deoxys is known as the DNA Pokémon from the 3rd generation; Keldeo is linked to the seas and belongs to the 5th generation, while Zarude wears a pink scarf in its Dada form from the 8th generation.
Fans now anticipate that Game Freak is preparing to distribute these three rare Pokémon for Pokémon Scarlet & Violet. Unfortunately, the event might be exclusive to Japan, as an official website hinted at a winter event in the region, with distribution tied to a purchase. It's unclear whether this will be via code or trade.
However, fans outside Japan shouldn't be too disappointed. These types of distributions are often eventually made available worldwide through codes. For example, the distribution of the mythical Pokémon Genesect, Marshadow, and Volcanion in Pokémon Sword & Shield started in the UK but later expanded to the US.
Similarly, the shiny Zacian and Zamazenta distribution began in South Korea but was later available in the UK and other regions through free codes.
We'll keep you updated on further developments.
In case you missed it: Game Freak may have suffered a massive hack, potentially leaking terabytes of Pokémon information.
