The title will focus on a cooperative and episodic multiplayer experience

Earlier this year, Nightmare Forge Games revealed Infestation: Origins, a horror game starring a terrifying version of Mickey Mouse. The studio took advantage of the fact that the original version of the Disney character is now public domain to offer a promising adventure.

After months of no news about the project, we finally have more information. Thanks to a gameplay reveal, we know that Infestation: Origins will feature a cooperative multiplayer experience that will be episodic. Additionally, it was confirmed that the game’s release is very close.

Nightmare Forge Games confirmed that Infestation: Origins will be a horror and survival game with a cooperative focus. Groups of up to 4 players will be able to enjoy it and try to survive the evil version of Mickey Mouse and other terrifying creatures.

The game puts players in the role of exterminators, so they must explore various locations to eradicate infestations. To complete their mission, they’ll have cameras, lights, and special equipment to destroy mysterious creature nests.

In each episode of the game, players will face a classic character or urban legend that is the cause of the infestations. The title will feature both public and private lobbies, as well as voice chat for in-game interaction.

The developers promise that Infestation: Origins will offer plenty of replayability, an attractive progression system, and support for Nvidia DLSS, a scaling technology. The game for PC doesn’t have an exact release date yet, but we know it will arrive on Steam sometime in October, just in time for Halloween. Below you can watch its gameplay:
