In the case of Sony, the PS5 remains the best-selling console on the continent, but it experienced a 17% drop compared to September 2023, and it is believed that the Japanese company's console barely stayed afloat due to the release of EA Sports FC 25, one of its users' favorite games.
Xbox Series X|S Sales Fell 58% in the Old Continent
On the other hand, Nintendo Switch brings no surprises as the decline of its commercial cycle continues, with sales dropping 1.5%. This performance was close to registering a positive result thanks to the release of The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom.
Finally, the most dramatic case is that of Xbox Series X|S, as Microsoft's hardware offering fell by 58% compared to the sales it had in the same month of 2023. The American console had a positive moment in the European market in its early years, but then it fell apart, and no change in trend is expected, as Microsoft indicated in its recent reports on video game hardware sales expectations.
The outlook is focused on what will happen in the last quarter of 2024, as Sony will launch the PlayStation 5 Pro, while Microsoft will flood the market with new models of Xbox Series X|S. Meanwhile, the gaming world waits patiently for the announcement of the new Switch console.
