Although Halo Infinite didn’t meet everyone’s expectations, 343 Industries hasn’t thrown in the towel and still plans to introduce exciting new features for the Xbox title. In fact, the company just confirmed that they are working on an addition that players have been requesting for years.

This will be a significant update for the franchise, as Halo Infinite will become the first game in the series to have an official third-person mode. Previously, this was possible in other games of the saga, but only through mods.

343 Industries wants to offer players a new way to enjoy Halo Infinite matches, so they made the long-awaited request a reality. The good news is that the third-person mode will be arriving very soon.

During the Halo Championships 2024, 343 Industries confirmed that, after many requests, they will add a third-person mode to the franchise. This feature will arrive in Halo Infinite before the end of the year. Specifically, it will launch sometime in November.

For now, we know that the mode won’t allow players to switch from first to third person during matches. It will be an option for Firefight, where all players will use the third-person mode. Additionally, players will be able to enjoy it in their Forge mode creations.

"It's a fun way to play, you have more awareness. You get to see your Spartan. It's super cool. Internally people have been loving it, and I'm excited for everyone to get their hands on it later this year," said John Junyszek, community manager at 343i.

The company shared a video showing a development version of the feature. Part of the community is excited about this new way of playing, while some fans criticized it, saying it makes the game look like Fortnite.
