Now You Can Enjoy Xbox Game Pass, Cloud Gaming, and More from a Single Mobile App

As part of Microsoft Gaming’s mobile strategy, they’ve streamlined the user experience by combining Xbox account management and cloud gaming features. For years, Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Cloud Gaming were available on separate apps, but as of today, Microsoft has integrated everything into a single mobile app, eliminating the need for multiple downloads and offering a unified gaming experience.

The New Xbox App Now Includes Game Pass

The official Xbox account on X confirmed that Xbox Game Pass has been fully integrated into the new all-in-one Xbox app for mobile devices. Microsoft recognized that users wanted a simpler experience, and switching between different apps wasn’t ideal. The new Xbox app now allows users to control their accounts, access their gaming content, and engage in social interactions, all from one place.

For Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, cloud gaming through Xbox Cloud is now also available in the same app. “Key features like browsing Game Pass and managing your membership are now in one place with the Xbox app on mobile devices. You’ll be able to explore the full Game Pass catalog, find your favorite games, and stay updated on new releases. Ultimate members can also view and claim exclusive perks, as well as stream selected games via Xbox Cloud Gaming on their iOS or Android devices,” stated Microsoft.

Although the Xbox Game Pass app will still be available for a short period, Microsoft has confirmed that by November, it will no longer be downloadable or installable on new devices. From that point on, the full Xbox ecosystem experience will take place in this unified app.

As for Xbox’s plans to launch a mobile store, those plans are still in progress and may come in 2024. Microsoft aims to compete with Apple and Google’s digital stores, though it’s likely to take a few more years before significant commercial changes fully favor competition.
