Xbox Game Pass regularly updates its catalog. While this means new titles arrive each month, it also implies that others must leave to make room. September ended with bad news, as players can no longer try out some very attractive games.

In retrospect, September was a great month for subscribers of the paid program. After all, they had the chance to enjoy Age of Mythology: Retold, Frostpunk 2, Ara: History Untold, and other day-one releases, as well as some titles already on the market that recently joined the collection.

However, active members also had to say goodbye to many interesting video games. In the middle of the month, FIFA 23, PAYDAY 3, SpiderHeck, and other games left the service and were no longer available at no additional charge. Unfortunately, even more games have now left the catalog.

A couple of weeks ago, Microsoft updated the list of games that were on their last days in Xbox Game Pass or PC Game Pass. As the saying goes, "no deadline passes without coming," and almost 10 games left the service at the end of the month.

Specifically, the program lost a total of 9 games on the afternoon of September 30. Possibly the most significant departure is Gotham Knights, the controversial AAA title set in the DC Comics universe. Although it had moderate success, it received mixed reviews due to its lackluster gameplay and generic open world.

However, Warner Bros. Games' offering was one of the most popular additions at the end of 2023, so it's a shame that Xbox Game Pass subscribers can no longer enjoy it for free.

Another painful loss is The Walking Dead: The Complete First Season, the first part of one of the best narrative experiences in history. For those unfamiliar, it's worth noting that in this game, we follow the story of Lee Everett, a convicted criminal who must protect a young girl named Clementine while trying to survive in a world overrun by zombies and desperate humans.

Microsoft's service also said goodbye to Valheim, the hit survival game that became a sensation on PC during its original debut in 2021.

These are the games that left Xbox Game Pass on September 30:

  • Gotham Knights
  • Let’s Build a Zoo
  • Loop Hero
  • My Time At Portia
  • PAW Patrol Grand Prix
  • Pheonix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy
  • The Walking Dead: The Complete First Season
  • The Walking Dead: Season Two
  • Valheim
