The Xbox executive attended the Japanese event and tried out several games

Xbox was present at Tokyo Game Show 2024 with an event full of interesting announcements for users of their consoles and services. Naturally, various brand executives attended the exhibition floor of the Japanese video game fair.

Phil Spencer, head of Microsoft Gaming, made an appearance to interact with Xbox fans in the region and try out several games showcased during the event. Interestingly, the Xbox executive was spotted playing with a PlayStation 5 DualSense, which caught many people's attention.

The executive noticed this, so he surprised everyone and didn’t hesitate to make a funny joke about a peculiar difference between the PlayStation and Xbox controllers.

Phil Spencer joked about PlayStation and Xbox controllers

PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo controllers share almost the same control layout; however, some of their buttons are positioned differently. This has caught the attention of players and, recently, executives like Phil Spencer.

During his gaming session at Tokyo Game Show 2024, the head of Microsoft Gaming made a joke about the location of the X button on the PlayStation 5 DualSense. Historically, this button is in the bottom position on PlayStation controllers, while it is on the left on Xbox and at the top on Nintendo.

While playing with Sony's controller, Spencer jokingly remarked that the X button was “in the wrong place,” referring to its position on Xbox controllers. This drew smiles from some players, who enjoyed the moment thanks to a video circulating on X.

Interestingly, Xbox shortly after made a post on social media, supposedly indicating where the button should be placed on a controller. The message was well-received by the brand’s fans, who took the opportunity to show off their controllers.
