Square Enix confirmed the expected release at Tokyo Game Show 2024

Xbox fans eagerly awaited Tokyo Game Show 2024, as reports hinted that Square Enix had major announcements related to the brand and one of its most iconic franchises: Final Fantasy.

As you may know, various entries in the JRPG saga haven’t made it to Microsoft consoles for one reason or another. Fortunately, that’s slowly changing, as one of the rumored announcements for Xbox Series X|S was confirmed during the Japanese event.

Thanks to this, Xbox console users can now enjoy another incredible Final Fantasy game. The exciting part is that it’s a collection featuring all the classic entries of the franchise, meaning they’ve actually received 6 games.

As several leaks had revealed, Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster was announced for Xbox Series X|S at Tokyo Game Show 2024. In case you don’t remember, the title includes the first 6 games of the saga with a few enhancements and added features.

Players have access to options such as disabling random encounters, multiplying experience gained, playing with either the original or remastered soundtrack, selecting various fonts for the text, and other quality-of-life improvements.

The game debuted earlier on PlayStation, Nintendo, and PC systems, but for months it was absent from the Xbox ecosystem. The collection with all 6 titles is now available on Xbox Series X|S for $74.99 USD. It's also possible to purchase the games individually.

The first 2 games of the saga are sold separately for $9.59 USD each, while the remaining titles can be purchased for $14.39 USD each. The collection is also available on PC through the Microsoft Store. In case you were wondering, Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster has not been added to Xbox Game Pass or PC Game Pass.

On another note, Square Enix did not make any other announcements related to the saga and Xbox. Many had hoped that a port of Final Fantasy XVI for Series X|S would be confirmed at the event, but it didn’t happen. Likewise, there was no news regarding Final Fantasy VII Remake for Microsoft consoles.
