Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is one of the biggest failures of the year. Rocksteady and Warner Bros. aimed to deliver a great game as a service; however, the project's proposal did not convince players and it became a major disappointment.

Its commercial failure has been a severe blow to the companies. Warner Bros.’ revenues plummeted 41% in its latest financial report, as the game did not meet the expected numbers in terms of players and earnings.

The company is even considering shifting its business to the free-to-play model after what happened with Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Now, it’s known that Rocksteady also suffered the consequences, as it was recently impacted by a wave of layoffs.

Thanks to a report from Eurogamer, we know that layoffs occurred at Rocksteady due to the failure of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. According to the details, this affected various departments at the studio, known for Batman: Arkham.

One of the teams that lost staff was the quality assurance team. Its size was significantly reduced, from 33 employees to just 15. Additionally, members from other areas reported that they received notices that they would be laid off.

For now, Warner Bros. has not commented on the matter, but affected employees speak of a restructuring caused by the game's low sales as a service, which lost a significant portion of its community within weeks.

As expected, this concerns players and fans of the studio, as its future is uncertain. Workers stated that the layoffs in the quality assurance team will cause the remaining staff to have more work and that the quality of their projects will obviously be affected.

Finally, it is mentioned that most of the affected employees held junior positions; however, there were also veterans who were laid off and will leave the company after working there for over 5 years.

It is known that Rocksteady planned 4 seasons of content for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, but it is now unclear what will happen with the project. There is a possibility that it will shut down when the roadmap is completed, or even before that.
