Concord is in serious trouble on Steam: the PlayStation game has so few players that it's difficult to find a match on PC

At times, the game's player peak has dropped below 100 users

Concord, the latest PlayStation exclusive, got off to a rough start. As a live service game, it was expected to have a large community from launch; however, it only gathered 697 players on Steam, a very unfavorable figure.

It’s said that the situation is better on PlayStation 5, but the game's future is more uncertain than ever. This is because Valve platform users are having trouble finding matches.

The reason? On several occasions, the simultaneous player peak for Concord on Steam has dropped below 100 users. As it stands, this is a bad sign for PlayStation and Firewalk Studios, who must be considering alternatives to somehow boost their hero shooter.

The number of Concord players continues to drop on Steam

At the time of writing, Concord has only 114 active players. Over the last few hours, players have reported problems finding matches. Because of this, they've had to endure long wait times to play. At its lowest point, the game registered only 86 users.

Part of the community is disappointed with this situation, believing that Concord is an entertaining game that deserves a chance. On the other hand, some players fear the worst, thinking it won’t be long before the game shuts down.

For this reason, some users believe the best alternative is for PlayStation and Firewalk Studios to make Concord free-to-play, as this would attract more players and, hopefully, give the game the boost it lacked at launch.

Others think making the game free would be a mistake, as it would involve monetizing it through cosmetic content and Battle Passes. Some prefer to pay for the game and receive post-launch updates for free.

The concerning part is that Concord has not surpassed the peak of 697 players it registered on Steam during its launch. Because of this, some players believe the game is beyond saving.

"Just waited 8 minutes for matchmaking, and then it timed out. I love the game and want to play it. Unfortunately, I can't wait 8 minutes plus between games. [So] I decided to play something else and come back on peak hours. This really doesn't look promising at all," said one disappointed player.
