Day 1 releases are one of the most attractive benefits of services like Xbox Game Pass. Sony doesn’t want to be left behind, so it has also started offering these types of launches for PlayStation Plus. There’s a surprise for PlayStation 5 users, as the company confirmed this morning that a highly anticipated and attractive release will debut directly on its subscription service in September.
It’s none other than The Plucky Squire, a title from All Possible Futures and Devolver Digital that caught a lot of attention upon its reveal. This is due to its adorable aesthetic, its mix of 2D and 3D, as well as its interesting adventure proposal.
The Plucky Squire will debut directly on PlayStation Plus
The studios have confirmed that The Plucky Squire is ready to debut. The title will arrive on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC on September 17th. What’s interesting is that it will be a day 1 release for PlayStation Plus.
Users of the service with an Extra and Premium subscription will be able to download and enjoy it at no additional cost from its launch. PlayStation has encouraged its players to give the title a try, as it will be a great addition to the PlayStation Plus catalog.
The title puts us in the role of Jot, a brave squire living in a 2D storybook world. He embarks on a dangerous adventure when Humpgrump, the villain of the story, ejects him from that universe and transports him to a 3D world.
The adventure game invites us to explore various locations filled with details to discover, face all kinds of monsters, and solve complex puzzles. All while alternating between the 2D and 3D worlds to rescue Jota's friends.

“One day, the evil Humpgrump realizes he’s the villain, destined to lose the battle against the forces of good for all eternity, so he expels the brave Jota from his pages and changes the story forever.
