Xbox Game Pass users are excited about the upcoming additions to the popular service, especially since Microsoft is finally bringing prominent Activision Blizzard games to its subscription platform.
While we’re still waiting to see which games will arrive in the second half of August, we already know the first 4 titles that will be added to Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass in September. It’s going to be an exciting month for strategy and RTS fans, as an iconic franchise returns alongside some highly anticipated titles. Additionally, there will be a surprise for space enthusiasts.
What games are coming to Xbox Game Pass in September?
One of the standout titles on the list of new additions is Age of Mythology: Retold. This is a remastered version of the classic real-time strategy game that debuted in 2002.
This relaunch by Xbox Game Studios and World’s Edge promises to be the definitive version of the RTS, with updated graphics, improved audio, and some gameplay enhancements that will make the mythological battles even more spectacular.
As if that weren’t enough, genre fans will also be able to enjoy Ara: History Untold. The game from Oxide Games was revealed in 2022 as a production to be distributed by Xbox Game Studios. The title picks up and aims to advance the 4X strategy concept (explore, expand, exploit, exterminate), focusing on historical decisions that will shape the destiny of a civilization.
Another major September surprise will be Frostpunk 2, a highly anticipated sequel from 11 bit studios. The game will revisit the mechanics of its predecessor and take them to a new level, offering a challenging and fun experience where strategy, resource management, and decision-making are key.
Finally, we have Star Trucker, a space-themed title. The game from Monster and Monster and Raw Fury puts players in the role of intergalactic truckers who must manage a spaceship while making deliveries across different planets and space stations. Here is the list of games with their release dates:
