There is excellent news for fans of anime and horror, as the adaptation of Uzumaki finally has a release date. The project by Junji Ito has suffered various delays, and its followers have had to be very patient to enjoy this new version of his classic.

Fortunately, during a panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2024, a new trailer for the horror anime was shown, and after a long wait, it was revealed when it will debut and on which platforms it will be available.

Uzumaki is one of the most important mangas in the horror genre and one of Junji Ito's most popular works. It debuted in 1998 and quickly captivated horror lovers with its story set in the fictional town of Kurouzu-cho, where the inhabitants begin to obsess over and go mad about spirals.

After many years since its release, it will finally have an anime adaptation that looks very promising. During San Diego Comic-Con 2024, it was confirmed that the animated series will debut on September 28. So it won’t be long before this story reaches a new audience.

According to details, it will initially stream on Adult Swim and will arrive the next day on MAX, where it can be enjoyed via streaming. The series tells the original story of the manga in 4 episodes, showcasing Ito's characteristic art style.

The new trailer gives us a glimpse of Kurozu-cho and some of its inhabitants, such as Kirie Goshima, Shuichi Saito, among others. Of course, the spirals and their mystery are the true stars of the trailer. You can watch it below:
