Despite generating mixed reactions during its presentation, the PlayStation Portal has gradually become a popular device among brand fans. For this reason, Sony continues to support it and has improved some of its features through updates.
If you have a unit of the portable device in your collection, you should know that a new system update is now available for download. It is version 3.0.1, which includes various adjustments and optimizations related to an important feature.
Sony improves PlayStation Portal connectivity
PlayStation Portal allows you to enjoy PlayStation 5 titles remotely via streaming, so connectivity is one of the key functions of the portable device. Sony has made various optimizations to this aspect in recent months and has prepared even more improvements.
System update 3.0.1 makes the hardware capable of connecting to a larger number of public networks. Specifically, now it is possible to establish connections with 5 GHz networks. To do this, simply complete the initial hardware setup and have the latest version of its system.
On the other hand, we know that the update also includes the usual performance and stability improvements. Sony reported that in certain cases, the PlayStation Portal asks users to download several updates consecutively when the initial setup of the portable is started. The company emphasized that this is completely normal and not a device error.
“Once you have downloaded and installed the consecutive updates, your PS Portal will be able to complete subsequent updates normally with a single download and installation set,” explained the company.
