“It’s ridiculous”: Xbox fans are upset over an issue affecting their consoles

In recent days, popular games have received updates with notable new features. Surprisingly, this has caused frustration among Xbox users, as the updates for their consoles are significantly larger compared to those for PlayStation and PC.

It all started with the latest update for Fortnite, which is much larger on Xbox than on other platforms. Now, the same issue has occurred with Mortal Kombat 1. Xbox Series X|S users have raised their voices, demanding an explanation and a solution, as their systems' storage space is running out.

This week, Fortnite received a new update on all platforms; however, it was not well received by Xbox users due to its size: 80 GB. The issue is that the same update only weighed 8 GB on PlayStation consoles.

As expected, Battle Royale players complained on social media. It was then that Epic Games acknowledged that the 30.30 update was significantly larger on Xbox due to an error.

“We are investigating an issue causing the v30.30 patch size to be much larger than expected for Xbox players. We understand this patch size is inconvenient and recommend players start the installation process before playing,” the studio stated.

This situation just repeated itself with Mortal Kombat 1, which received an 11 GB patch on PlayStation. However, the update for Xbox is over 120 GB. Fans of the brand do not know what is happening, but they are upset about the situation.

Therefore, they took to social media and various forums to demand an explanation and seek a solution, as they believe the situation is “ridiculous” and do not want their consoles’ storage space to be consumed solely by updates.

The community speculates that it could be an issue with Microsoft's infrastructure, but neither the company nor Xbox has commented on the matter. We will have to wait to learn more about this situation.
