Halo: Will 343i step away from the franchise? The studio responds to the rumors

Recent rumors claim that 343 Industries will step away from developing the next Halo games, the flagship franchise of Xbox and Microsoft. According to the details, the studio will now focus solely on overseeing the creation of the games, which will be in the hands of other studios.

The information spread like wildfire on social media, where fans discussed it and other sources shared their viewpoints. 343i did not stay on the sidelines of the conversation and clarified whether it is true that they will stop developing the next adventures of Master Chief.

343i clarifies recent rumors about Halo

Bathrobe Spartan, a well-known informant about the saga, indicated that 343i would be somewhat relegated and would focus only on pre-production, creating game concepts, and overseeing development. Additionally, he stated that 2 projects from the saga are already on the way.

SGTBlairTV, streamer, developer, and a passionate Halo fan, criticized the report and stated that the Halo leakers “do not care about the truth”, as all they want are “impressions and followers, no matter the damage they do to the community."

John Junyszek, community manager of 343i, responded to the publication to make it clear that the supposed leaks have no backing. “It has been — and always will be — wild out there,” he wrote on his social media.

On the other hand, Jez Corden, journalist for Windows Central, reviewed Bathrobe Spartan’s information and stated that it is false. Additionally, the Halo Leaks account supported Corden and added that 343i will definitely remain at the forefront of the franchise.

“I said this last year, I have no idea why anyone believed that 343i would take on more of a publisher role. 343i will be the main developer of the main Halo titles in the future. Halo Infinite and beyond,” stated Halo Leaks.

So far, neither Xbox nor any other member of 343i has commented on the recent leaks. Thus, it seems that the future of Halo will remain in the studio's hands despite fans who disagree after the recent games in the saga.
