Karate Kid had a resurgence in recent years. The franchise regained some of the popularity it earned with its original trilogy of movies, so Odaclick Game Studio and GameMill Entertainment decided to work with the IP and develop a new beat 'em up based on the first films.

This is The Karate Kid: Street Rumble, a title that will debut this year for consoles and PC. It promises to be an adventure full of nostalgia, as it will draw inspiration from the original story of the 1980s trilogy and, in addition, will have an attractive 16-bit retro aesthetic.

Fans of the franchise will only have to wait a few months to enjoy The Karate Kid: Street Rumble. Odaclick Game Studio announced that it will be available next September 20 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam).

According to the details, the game will be set in iconic locations from the three classic movies of the franchise. It will be set in 1980 and will feature a total of 12 levels. Players will be able to play as iconic characters such as Daniel Russo, Mr. Miyagi, Kumiko, and Ali Mills.

Antagonists that fans know well, such as Johnny Lawrence, John Kreese, Terry Silver, and more, were also confirmed. The title will have a simple combat system based on popular classic beat 'em ups. Players will be able to execute combos and special moves to defeat enemies and bosses at each level.

Fans will be able to explore Topanga Beach, West Valley High, Cobra Kai Dojo, and other locations while listening to a chiptune soundtrack full of retro touches. Lastly, we know the game will feature a local co-op multiplayer mode for up to four players. Below you can see a trailer:
