Xbox often spoils its players with giveaways and sweepstakes to win attractive rewards. In June 2023, it announced a promotion to celebrate the release of the live-action Barbie movie and give away a flashy special edition Xbox Series S.
The console caught attention for its pink color and having the franchise logo on the front. Additionally, it included a very special stand inspired by the Barbie DreamHouse toy. As if that weren't enough, the package included various unique front controller faceplates.
Recently, a player experienced the disappointment of a lifetime, realizing they had won the package but it was already too late to claim it. As a result, they missed out on all the gifts due to a mistake they will always remember.
Player didn't claim the Barbie Xbox Series S and more gifts
A Reddit user recently shared an image that made many players and fans of the brand feel bad. In it, you can see a message from Xbox, notifying them that they were the lucky winner of the Barbie Xbox Series S giveaway.
As you probably already know, these types of promotions have very clear rules. One of them is that winners have only 48 hours to contact Xbox and confirm they will claim the prizes. Otherwise, they will lose their prizes without exception.
The giveaway started on July 10, 2023, and the player received the message on October 19 via their social media. The problem is that they didn't see it in time and missed all the gifts. As expected, the Xbox fan regretted what happened.
“Well, this sucks... I just saw this today. This is what I get for never using Twitter/X I guess...,” wrote the player. The community showed their support and shared their feeling of frustration.
Interestingly, this is not the first time something similar has happened. In 2022, a player revealed that they had won a fabulous special edition Far Cry 6 Xbox Series X but also didn't claim it in time and lost it.
