A fan of The Legend of Zelda was arrested and sentenced to 4 months in prison for going out in public with a replica of Link's Master Sword. This happened in Warwickshire, UK, where authorities detained Anthony Bray, a 48-year-old man who was walking around with the sword.
According to the details, the individual was carrying a 15 cm replica of the iconic sword in its sheath. However, at some point during his walk, he decided to unsheathe the weapon, and unfortunately for him, a group of police officers saw him. It is known that they questioned him and arrested him on the spot. Now, Bray will have to spend months in prison and pay a fine for carrying a potentially dangerous sharp object.

According to the report, authorities in Warwickshire have zero tolerance for sharp objects carried in public. Because of this, the police did not hesitate for a moment to arrest Bray, despite the characteristics of the object he was carrying.
Authorities saw the individual walking with the sword on Queens Road, Nuneaton, on June 8th. Upon approaching him, they saw that it was a sharp object, so they arrested him, fearing he might use it as a weapon and harm someone.
The detainee explained that he used the sword as a stress-relief toy, as it helped keep his hands busy. He also explained that he had bought it online precisely as a toy and that he would never use it as a weapon.
The man acknowledged that the object could be potentially dangerous if there were ill intentions and clarified that this was not his case. However, the Leamington Spa Magistrates' Court sentenced him on June 28th to spend 4 months in prison. Additionally, he must pay a fine of £154 GBP, equivalent to $196 USD.
“We take a zero tolerance to bladed articles in public, and Bray has fallen afoul of this. It is possible to find fidget toys that aren’t six-inch blades. It is possible not to walk down the street holding them out in front of you. With a bit more self-awareness, Bray could have avoided contact with us completely", stated a police officer.
