Nintendo is preparing everything to present its next console. It is expected that the successor to the Switch, also known as Switch 2, will be a success at its debut thanks to the popularity of the company's current console. Nintendo wants to ensure this, so it made an important promise related to its new hardware.

During a Q&A session, Shuntaro Furukawa, the company's president, confirmed that several measures have already been taken to prevent the resale of Switch 2, including manufacturing enough units to meet initial demand.

Current generation consoles suffered from a serious shortage problem due to the lack of certain components for their manufacture. Additionally, their distribution was impacted by pandemic-related issues. While the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S were the most affected systems, the Switch also faced consequences.

Due to the immense popularity of its hybrid console, Nintendo expects its next hardware to succeed greatly at its launch. So it anticipates high demand and, of course, is already considering the problems of resale and shortages.

Furukawa stated that measures have already been taken to curb the potential resale of the Switch's successor. The executive promised that players would not have to turn to resellers since sufficient stock will be guaranteed for the launch in all regions.

The president of Nintendo does not rule out applying other measures to prevent resale, depending on the peculiarities of each market. Another important detail is that Furukawa believes that component shortages will no longer be an issue, so they do not expect to have problems in their manufacturing and distribution chain.

“Last year and the year before, we were unable to produce sufficient quantities of Nintendo Switch hardware due to a shortage of semiconductor components, but this situation has now been resolved. At present, we do not believe that the shortage of components will have a significant impact on the production of the successor model," the executive commented.
