The world of anime is in mourning as this morning, the death of Hiroyuki Omori, the producer of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure and other notable series, was confirmed. His passing was announced by Warner Bros. Japan, the company where the creative worked on various animated series.

According to reports, Omori passed away at the age of 57 on June 16th due to undisclosed causes. Fans of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure and anime in general took to social media to pay tribute and bid a final farewell to the creative.

Hiroyuki Omori was always passionate about animation. He studied at Doshisha University in Kyoto, Japan. His career began at NBCUniversal Entertainment Japan LLC and later he joined Warner Bros. Japan.

In addition to producing all seasons of the anime Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, he also worked on series such as Hi Score Girl, High School of the Dead, When They Cry – Higurashi, Terraformars, and BASTARD!!

His work was crucial for the existence of the Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure anime. Initially, Omori was unsure about translating Hirohiko Araki's distinctive style into an animated series, but he took it as a challenge and delivered a production that now has millions of fans worldwide.

As a producer, he ensured that the anime adaptations he worked on faithfully adapted the original manga material. Fans of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure and other series thanked him for his work and his legacy to the industry.
