The PS2 catalog is full of genuine gems that players have requested for modern systems. Recently, a listing was discovered indicating that TimeSplitters, a title that debuted in 2000, will somehow arrive on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.

TimeSplitters was developed by Free Radical Design, a team formed by former Rare employees. It was well received for its campaign, multiplayer mode, and storyline, which involves time travel. Its campaign spans 9 levels set in different historical periods, from 1935 to 2035.

Players assume the roles of various characters and face the TimeSplitters, an alien race bent on destroying humanity by manipulating history. Its tremendous success led to the development of TimeSplitters 2 (2002) and TimeSplitters: Future Perfect (2005).

The first title of the franchise was recently classified for Sony's current consoles in Taiwan. This indicates that it is only a matter of time before TimeSplitters joins the classic games catalog on PlayStation Plus, as has happened with other PS2 releases for the service.

While the listing is enough to believe in its arrival on the service, the reality is that it is not yet confirmed. It is best to wait for Sony to confirm the games that will be added to PlayStation Plus next month.
