The popularity of Fallout is at one of its highest points thanks to the enormous success of Season 1 of the Amazon live-action series. Players believe that Bethesda should capitalize on this momentum and release Fallout 5 as soon as possible.

Recent reports claimed that Xbox wanted to accelerate the game's development to capitalize on the success and please fans of the franchise. However, Todd Howard, Bethesda's executive, clarified this information and revealed that they will not rush anything, as they want to do things right for the future of the franchise.

During an interview with YouTuber MrMattyPlays (via Insider Gaming), Howard acknowledged the players' desire for a new Fallout. He stated that for now, he cannot reveal anything about it, but made it clear that they will not rush the development of the next main installment.

"We don’t feel like we need to rush any of that. Right now, the Fallout TV show fills a certain niche in terms of the franchise and story-telling," emphasized the executive.

Howard's statements bring bittersweet news for fans, as it confirms that Fallout 5 will take time to arrive. However, the developer assured that this approach will ensure things are done right and that the title meets players' expectations.

"We just want to get it right and make sure that everything we’re doing in a franchise, whether it’s The lder Scrolls or Fallout or now Starfield, that those become meaningful moments for everybody who loves these franchises as much as we do," added the creative.

Sources speculate that Fallout 5 may not arrive until 2030 or even later, as Bethesda continues to work on new content for Starfield and also has another major project pending: The Elder Scrolls VI.
