Players want to see the new installment of the franchise on the last-generation console

The Summer Game Fest 2014 kicked off with a big surprise from PlayStation and Sony: the unveiling of LEGO Horizon Adventures. To the amazement of everyone, the title will not only arrive on PlayStation 5 and PC but also receive a port for Nintendo Switch.

This has left many PlayStation players puzzled and upset for several reasons. Firstly, they can't believe the game is coming to Switch but not to PS4, a system with a solid player base. Additionally, many disagree with LEGO Horizon Adventure being a multiplatform release.

On social media and forums, you can find all sorts of comments related to LEGO Horizon Adventures and its surprising arrival on Nintendo Switch. Part of the PlayStation community is not exactly pleased with this approach, as they believe it undermines the brand's identity.

Many believe that Sony shouldn't follow Xbox's multiplatform strategy and bring some of its iconic franchises to competing consoles. Some even claim that this path signifies the “beginning of the end” for PlayStation and its exclusive-focused strategy.

On the other hand, there are players who don't have issues with the release for Switch, as they agree that Horizon is a great franchise that everyone should experience. However, they don't understand why Sony won't release a port for PS4.

It's known that many players of the brand haven't made the transition to PS5 yet, so PS4 still has a massive user base. For this reason, some people demanded that Sony release a port for the last-generation console.

"PlayStation? Are you going full Joker now that LEGO Horizon is coming out on Switch? Sony preferred to abandon its PS4 base by not releasing the game there," stated one upset player.

Of course, there are also puzzled players since LEGO Horizon Adventures is a multiplatform release; however, it won't be available for any Xbox console.
