Stellar Blade has just debuted and is already going through a lot of controversy. Some players are upset due to several changes the game underwent with its most recent update. Part of the community pointed to SHIFT UP for censoring the title, since it modified some of EVE's outfits.
Fans of the game even raised their voices with a petition on Change.org, as they want the company to revert the changes and leave all the content in its original state. SHIFT UP is already aware of this, so they responded to the recent criticism.
Will SHIFT UP reverse the changes in Stellar Blade after criticism?
Prior to release, SHIFT UP promised that its game would be uncensored in any region. Partly because of this, the studio's fans are upset about the tweaks the studio made to some of EVE's costumes and appearance.
Specifically, it all started because of some modifications that were made to the Holiday Rabbit outfit. SHIFT UP hid part of EVE's cleavage, which did not please some players. Part of the community believes that the company lied about censorship and misled its fans.
Hyung-Tae Kim, director of the game, decided to speak out about the issue in the face of recent criticism. He explained that the most recent update shows the final design of the outfit, so they have no plans to go back to the original low-cut design.
However, he affirmed that SHIFT UP is having internal conversations about what happened, as they know that the answer will not satisfy many fans. While no changes in attire were confirmed, there is also no final decision on the issue for now.
“Understandably, we also recognize this issue. However, the final costume that we wanted to show you is indeed the costume in version 1.0.0.2. I want to clarify that is our final product. However, I know this answer is not enough to convince our users. There is an internal discussion ongoing regarding this, so I think we’ll have a chance to answer it soon,” the developer stated.
