Ubisoft has in its hands several important and much-loved franchises that have left their mark on many gamers. Some of its fans are worried, as an insider recently claimed that the company will forget about one of its most popular sagas.

According to details, Ubisoft will allegedly put in the freezer Watch Dogs, its action-adventure franchise. This is because the last installment allegedly failed to meet expectations and the studio has doubts about the saga's performance in the future.

Via his social networks, the tipster known as j0nathan claimed that Watch Dogs is "dead and buried". His statements alarmed fans of the saga, who now fear that it will not return soon with a new installment.

The informant added that everything is due to Watch Dogs Legion, an installment that did not live up to expectations on a commercial level, according to his sources. He claims that the failure of that game in the market led to the cancellation of other licensed projects of the franchise. Specifically, the insider mentioned a Battle Royale title with an eye-catching concept.

"Watch Dogs is normally dead and buried. Legion's failure destroyed the projects on the license (including a fairly original Battle Royale)," said the insider.

However, it is important to clarify that Ubisoft has not confirmed anything related to the future of the franchise. On the other hand, this is unofficial information that should be considered a mere rumor.

Some fans are disappointed and believe the report. Others doubt the insider's statements, especially since in March of this year it was confirmed a live-action movie of the saga. We know that the project is in the hands of New Regency, that it will be directed by Mathieu Turi and that actress Sophie Wilde wants the leading role.
