The open-world franchise is no stranger to entertainment celebrities. The third installment of the series featured actor Michael Mando, known for his work on the acclaimed series Better Call Saul. Likewise, the main antagonist of the sixth game in the saga is none other than Giancarlo Esposito.
With this in mind, a popular insider and YouTuber stirred the pot and momentarily led the community to believe that a prestigious Oscar-winning actor would be participating in Ubisoft's next installment; however, it all turned out to be a misunderstanding.

Insider Clarifies Rumor and Talks About Cillian Murphy's Alleged Involvement in Far Cry 7
Just hours ago, informant and content creator j0nathan, who previously shared accurate details about Assassin’s Creed Mirage and other Ubisoft titles before their official reveal, took to social media to share a series of cryptic images.
In the first image, we see actor Cillian Murphy; in the second, we observe a package of dynamite with a countdown of 72 hours; in the third, there's a crab; and in the fourth, a number 7 is displayed. Everything seems to indicate that these are clues about the hypothetical Far Cry 7.
As expected, fans began to speculate that the famous Oscar-winning actor, known for his role in the film Oppenheimer, would appear in the new installment of the Ubisoft franchise, possibly as the villain. However, insider j0nathan denied the rumor and commented in a follow-up post that the image in question means something else.
"However, I never said that Cillian Murphy was going to be in the game. The image means something else (...) It's really sick. I posted 4 photos without saying anything and I see headlines like 'leaker j0nathan announces that Cillian Murphy will be the antagonist of Far Cry'. I never said anything like that," commented the informant.
Thus, the community now speculates that the plot of the hypothetical Far Cry 7 will take place in Ireland (Cillian Murphy's home country) or that the protagonist will be named after the famous Hollywood actor. The truth is, at this moment, Ubisoft has yet to confirm the production of the video game.
For months, rumors have circulated about a new title in the franchise. According to previous reports, the French company is working on the seventh installment and a multiplayer spin-off.
Journalist and insider Tom Henderson, who has a track record of accuracy, highlighted in 2023 that the next chapter of the saga will feature a non-linear story in which the protagonist has 72 hours to save their family. This premise aligns with one of the images shared by j0nathan. Nonetheless, it's best to temper expectations and await official information.
