Hint suggests that a port for Sony's console is on the way

Xbox recently brought several of its exclusive games to PlayStation as part of a change in its strategy. So far, it has already confirmed the arrival of titles such as Sea of Thieves, Grounded, Hi-Fi RUSH and Pentiment on competing consoles.

Apparently, these types of releases will not stop in the future. At least so hints a hint, which suggests that one of the most popular Xbox games will soon be coming to PlayStation 5 with a native port. We refer to Minecraft.

Everything indicates that Minecraft will finally have a native version for PS5

It is currently possible to play Minecraft on PlayStation 5; however, it runs through backward compatibility with PlayStation 4. Thus, for now there is no native port that takes advantage of the full capabilities of Sony's current console.

However, all indications are that this will change soon. The X PlayStation Game Size account, which tracks movements on the PlayStation Store, revealed that a version of Minecraft for PlayStation 5 is supposedly on the way.

It is important to remember that such a port does not exist so far because of Sony and not due to a Microsoft decision. Thanks to documents from the Activision Blizzard purchase, we know that the Japanese company at one point refused to send PlayStation 5 development kits to Microsoft and Xbox studios, including Mojang.

Because of this, PlayStation players have had to settle for playing the PS4 version via the backwards compatibility feature. Minecraft is one of the most popular games in the world, so the absence of a native port for the current generation is strange.

Some time ago, hints of a possible Xbox Series X|S version of the game also surfaced. However, Microsoft clarified the situation and stated that they generated a log as a routine move, but that there was no new port in development.

Despite this, new evidence suggests that sooner or later Minecraft will have a next-gen version. For now nothing has been confirmed, so it's best to wait for Mojang to make an announcement.
