All signs suggest that the Nintendo Switch is slowly but surely approaching the end of its life cycle. While news about its supposed successor is making headlines, the catalog of this popular hybrid console continues to grow each week with very interesting additions. Soon, one of the most striking releases of 2021 will be added.
Nintendo's console will have a busy few months. In addition to big exclusive releases like Princess Peach: Showtime! and Paper Mario the Thousand-Year Door, it will welcome ports of titles that have been around for a few years.
Beyond Kingdom Come: Deliverance and Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown Deluxe Edition, another game from Xbox, PlayStation, and PC is on its way to Nintendo Switch.
Biomutant is Coming to Nintendo Switch Very Soon
We're talking about Biomutant, a role-playing and action video game that transports us to a post-apocalyptic world filled with Kung-Fu proficient mutant animals. It debuted on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on May 25, 2021, while the next-gen versions for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 were released a year later.
Recall that a leak in September 2022 anticipated that the project by THQ Nordic and Experiment 101 would come to Nintendo Switch, but it was not until 2023 that its developers made the official announcement. After a very extended wait and a slight delay, it finally has a release date.
The developers confirmed that Biomutant will land on the hybrid console on May 14, 2024, meaning the wait will end very soon. This port will come with a pleasant surprise: all previously released downloadable content will be available at no additional cost.
What is Biomutant?
For those unfamiliar, Biomutant is an open-world role-playing game where we play as a mutant animal tasked with saving its world from a dangerous plague. Along the journey, we encounter formidable beasts and tribes with their own interests.
This game drew attention thanks to its combat system that combines martial arts, technology, and firearms.
Despite its interesting concept and some good ideas, Biomutant was unable to resonate with all players. At the moment, it has an average score of 66 on Metacritic and mixed reviews on Steam. That said, it managed to build a community around it.
