Xbox Game Pass: Phil Spencer reaffirms that all Activision Blizzard content will come to the service

For a long time, there were doubts about what would happen with Call of Duty.

The acquisition of Bethesda | ZeniMax by Microsoft was celebrated, among other things, for the availability of its video games on Xbox Game Pass. When the acquisition of Activision Blizzard was announced, the hope was the same, and after navigating a path full of difficulties, it seems that the light at the end of the tunnel has appeared, bringing good news.

Xbox plans to release all Activision Blizzard games on Game Pass, reaffirms Phil Spencer

During an interview with Stephen Totilo, Phil Spencer, CEO of Microsoft Gaming, talked about what will happen with the Activision Blizzard catalog and Xbox Game Pass. In this regard, the executive reaffirmed what Sarah Bond, Xbox President, stated in the recent brand business update, meaning that all games from the newly acquired companies will come to the service and on day one for future releases.

According to Phil Spencer, they are working to ensure the availability of Activision Blizzard games as soon as possible, although he did not reveal a launch window: "Our intention is for the entire portfolio of ZeniMax, Activision Blizzard, and Xbox Game Studios games to be on Game Pass and on day one. We are doing the necessary work to have them available on PC and console simultaneously."

This new era of Activision Blizzard under the Xbox umbrella will begin next month when Diablo IV arrives on Game Pass on March 28, something historic as the company had always been reluctant to have its games in a subscription service, considering it impacted their business model.

The expectation of many Xbox and PC players subscribed to the service is that all Call of Duty installments will come to Game Pass, but at least, as per Phil Spencer's own words, they know this is imminent, and sooner or later, all released games as well as those in development will be available.
