The Day Before was one of the worst titles of 2023 and many gamers consider it one of the biggest rip-offs of recent years. The game has since closed its servers and FNTASTIC doesn't even exist anymore; however, the controversial title made a surprise reappearance on Steam at a reduced price.
This surprised many users of Valve's platform, who already thought the project was dead. The reality is that it's all about one more hoax related to the title, as someone tried to take advantage of its former popularity to scam some players.
Title pretends to be The Day Before and GTA to trick gamers
Steam users believed for a moment that The Day Before had legitimately returned to the platform. The title's page was reactivated without warning and, most strikingly, it was being offered for only $5.99 USD, a bargain considering the game was originally offered for $39.99 USD.
It didn't take long for the community to realize that something was wrong, so many gamers decided to be wary of the site and did some research. They noticed that the page The Day Before previously belonged to a game called Carrot The Cat.
Everyone moved away from this page when it was discovered that, until a few days ago, it referred to an alleged new installment of GTA set in Brazil. This was proof enough to completely rule out the return of The Day Before, as the page is simply another hoax related to the title.
Fortunately, Valve noticed this move made by some unidentified person and already removed the fake page of The Day Before. It is speculated that the person responsible tried to profit thanks to the fame gained by the FNTASTIC title.
In the end, it's unclear what players got if they purchased their supposed copy of the MMO. As we told you, FNTASTIC closed its doors after the resounding failure of the MMO and many broken promises, so it is unlikely that The Day Before will ever see the light of day again.
