A couple of days ago, very loud rumors surfaced indicating that Xbox plans to bring its big exclusives to competing platforms. These reports worried fans who feared that Microsoft might abandon consoles.
As promised, Phil Spencer, Sarah Bond, Matt Booty, and Tina Amini from Xbox starred in a podcast where they addressed the rumors of the last few days and shed light on the company's strategy for the future.
Phil Spencer confirmed that 4 games will arrive on more platforms but refrained from revealing more details. However, he announced that Starfield and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will remain exclusives to PC and Xbox consoles, at least for the time being.

In a blog post on Xbox that was published alongside the podcast, Jeff Rubenstein confirmed that consoles will still be an integral part of the company, and he confirmed that the Xbox Game Pass subscription service will not leave this ecosystem.
"Xbox consoles will provide a flagship experience for gamers; where they get the value and convenience, and where Game Pass provides unprecedented access to a constantly evolving game library. And of course, Game Pass will only be available on Xbox platforms," commented Jeff Rubenstein.
These statements will reassure those who feared that Microsoft would stop making consoles in the medium or long term. The comments are in line with a report that indicated that Phil Spencer, CEO of Microsoft Gaming, assured in a meeting that there are no plans to stop making hardware.
In the podcast, Sarah Bond went further and hinted that in the next holiday season, they will share news related to hardware. She also suggested that they are already planning their next generation, which will represent the "biggest technical leap" ever seen.
"We have more to come. Some interesting things are emerging in hardware that we will share this holiday season. We are also investing in the roadmap for the next generation. What we are really focused on is delivering the biggest technical leap ever seen in a hardware generation, making it better for players and creators," said Sarah Bond.
