The ending of FF VII Rebirth will surprise fans, says Tetsuya Nomura

During an interview with Automaton (via Wccftech), Tetsuya Nomura, creative director of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, spoke about the possible reaction of fans once they have the game in their hands and progress in its story development. According to the Japanese creative, the team has thought about surprising the audience, but they are also aware of what will happen when players reach the end, something that makes him nervous because he doesn't know how the public will react.

Regarding this, Nomura stated: "when you play Final Fantasy VII Remake, you probably have a small question in the back of your head: most of the scenes align with the original, right...? So I wanted to add an ending that would surprise the audience. As for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, I really don't have a good read on how the audience will react. What I can say is that the ending will certainly have a quite different impact than Remake. This time, I'm much more nervous about how everyone will handle this ending.

Previously, Tetsuya Nomura revealed that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will have several dramatic moments, and one even made him cry, but it's not the one everyone thinks. So the expectation is that this second part will stand out for its twists in the story and what will happen with Cloud and company.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will debut on February 29 on PS5.
