Dragon Ball has many video games under its belt. Arguably one of the most beloved by fans, at least in our region, is Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 from 2007. After a long wait, this subseries of fighting games will return with a new installment. Now, when will it be available?
A couple of days ago, Bandai Namco and Spike Chunsoft shared a new trailer for Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO, the successor to the Budokai Tenkaichi series. There, we saw Goku and Vegeta showcasing their abilities and most powerful transformations during battles.
Unfortunately, the trailer refrained from revealing more details about the release date. Now, a supposed interview with the project's producers has revealed substantial information that will excite – and worry – players.
When will Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO be released?
According to reports, YouTubers SofianLeGEEK, Yekais, and LaunSSJ had the opportunity to speak with producers Jun Furutani and Ryo Mito, who shared new details about the fighting title.
According to the information, the minds behind Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO don't want to rush development, so they are currently aiming for a release in late 2024 or early 2025. To make the wait more bearable, they will reveal the character list and new features over the next few months through new trailers.
As explained by the influencers, the producers indicate that the new game in the franchise won't have split-screen, a feature present in previous titles; undoubtedly, this news will disappoint many fans. It is said that this is due to the restrictions imposed by Microsoft and Sony.
It's also likely that there will be characters from Dragon Ball GT and the movies in the base roster or as DLC. In fact, it is said that Beast Gohan, who first appeared in the franchise's latest film, could be a selectable fighter.
Although the original post includes a photo showing LaunSSJ with Jun Furutani and Ryo Mito, there is no recording or transcript of the interview. Therefore, it is currently challenging to verify the accuracy of the information. However, the reliable insider SupaChronicles assures that this information is true.
Either way, it is advisable to take these reports with a grain of salt and wait for an official announcement. In the meantime, we remind you that the latest trailer confirmed that Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO will have over 150 characters.
But tell us, are you eagerly awaiting this new title? Let us hear your thoughts in the comments.
Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO will debut on an as-yet-unconfirmed date for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
